Hurricane Katrina: A Look at the Worst Natural Disaster in U.S. History

October 12, 2005: Hurricane Katrina has come and gone, Reed and Simon are safe in Norman, but the country and the world are still feeling the impacts of Katrina: a great city, the Souther Gem, New Orleans is in ruin, tens of thousands of people are homeless, many will have emotional scars that will never heal. The country has and will change because of this catastrophic event (not a CAT 5), but a catastrophic event. Katrina was so many things; deadly, devastating, aweinspiring, but Katrina has gone into legend and yet the legend contiues to grow and build as the days pass. Now we can say "we were there" fifty years from now. All those who went to Mississippi or Louisiana to experience this event probably feel a little if not a lot different than they did in July of 2005. Reed and Simon have a story regarding Katrina, a really good and exciting story, but that will have to wait, but it will surface on this site soon and people will be able to relate to the hurricane, the people, the victims and the chasers.
