March 20th, 2006 Putnam,OK 'Birthday' Tornado
Simon Brewer intercepted a low-topped, cold-core, tornadic supercell and cone tornado on his birthday in Western Oklahoma! This was a rare setup along an occluded warm/pacific front in Western Oklahoma. The temperature and dewpoint in the vicinity of the tornado were 54/42 degrees F! With intense vorticity advection with height and incredibly steep lapse rates a supercell formed and produced a tornado near Putnam, OK. |
