May 24, 2005 Eastern Colorado

24 May, 2005 - Day 4 of Jim's chase vacation. They left Burlington and head north on a state highway, and then west.

The first photo captures a chaser traffic jam on state highway undergoing construction. Funny enough, to the west-northwest was a tornado warned storm visible from the road! Doppler on Wheels and the vehicle formerly known as "Bushwag" was in front, along with a chasing tour group.

Upon reaching the storm all we found was a mainly ouflow dominant beast, which was trying to get something going along a new updraft to the west-southwest. Not something you want to see when you're looking for tornadoes!

After blasting south and then east, we dove south after another tornado warned storm. Eventually, we ended up ahead of a newer supercell further to the south.

Despite my still camera malfunctioning....I was able to capture a few great images.

More pics and details coming soon...
